FATKAT IS HIRING | HAPPY TREE FRIENDS AWAITS!

Just a note to all you fellow flash animators and artists that are finishing up at other studios in Atlantic Canada and maybe looking to work on a really cool project at a super fun studio.

We're in need of 5 more artists for Happy Tree Friends and these positions start January 2nd!

We need 4 deliciously dangerous flash animators who know the value of a line. HTF won't be like productions most people at other studios are used to. Besides being fantastically violent, each animator is responsible for their own scene's rough animation, inbetweening and clean up. The quota will be roughly 35 seconds a week plus revisions.

But there are requirements for these new positions, which suck but we're counting on to keep our budget... ...well, on budget. These requirments are non-negotiable, we need these 5 fine folks to meet them. They are:

1. You must be Canadian.
2. You must have graduated within the last 2 years (We might be able to bend to 2 and a half years maybe, but it requires you have little to no experience). Be ready to show your certificate or diploma folks!
   
3. Flash animation skills. However we've been known to take solid traditional artists and train them (so this one is a bit loose).
4. Strong positive outlook. No depressive, toxic personalities.
   

It's not a full on traditional show, there is some symbol animation in there, but the show needs to look money, it needs to look less flash and more goodness. (You know what I mean).

STUDIO CONSTRUCTION | DAY 37

Looking good folks, check out that floor. Beans, Drew, Christopher, Patrick and my Dad (poppajama) all helped laying it down so far. It's real nice, brings contrast to the colours and makes it look all nice and peachy.

We move in this weekend, isn't that nuts? Man, so much to do still.

Man, I'm thinking of asking the landord about painting that chimney a deep and bright purple. What you think?

FATKAT WINS THE LOTTERY!

Ok, so we went out for some drinks last night, I was feeling pretty good but left early. The guys went on to Dooly's I'm figuring to watch Salad play the Harmonica and Andy get his guitar on, figures, the first night they get to jam at Dooly's and I totally miss out. Not even a picture. Damn!

Except one, in the morning when I came into work I found this in my office.

It seems some yahoos from the studio went marauding through town pulling a "Gene" if you will (I've been known to do this shit). Well this is certainly a good one. Especially when I had to call around this morning to find out who owned it. It was actually Dickson's Quick mart right next door. I brought it over and I could see all the townies in Tim Horton's watching as I carried this big bright sign down the sidewalk. I'm sure I'm going to get some questions the next time I go in for a coffee. (Groan).

What goes around comes around (I smell a Spence).

DESIGN GIG WITH POWERHOUSE

Our good pals at Powerhouse Animation threw us over a cool design gig to hammer out in the next few weeks. I've started a blog already to document this production (look to the bar on the right, under FATKAT BLOGS). Check it out if you want to see from rough concept to final animation.

STUDIO CONSTRUCTION | DAY 31

An Dy Co UL - The bearded Samuari, brings you this weeks first studio construction update.

Here's the latest my fuckers. Drywall is up and being sanded as I type this update. Desk frames are all assembled and will be lined with corkboard for your doodle posting pleasure. Jamie at beeweb has layed all the network wires and will be finishing up this weekend. The Security system will be going in next week too I think.

Painting starts tomorrow, the floor goes down next week and then we move our asses in!

a kissed a girl right on the kipper.. she sneezed and blew my hat off. temporarily stunned I reach for my pants and found 'Clare'.

She was sixfoot three with twelve more inches of bagels on her bonce. I watch helplessly as she helped herself.

It's a testament to the power of speech in that I couldn't think of anything to say to her lucious frame... slowly a thought formed, I opened my mouth and out spilled 'Do you think the Wethergirls were fat on purpose?'

Sometimes I wonder just how much absinthe Mick has been drinking when he hits the keyboard. :o)
